Rooted in Community

He grew up in the small village of Cheltenham, where he learned the importance of community at an early age. Raised by his widowed mother alongside three siblings, Brad was taught that perseverance, education and hard work could overcome difficult circumstances.

Business & Leadership Experience

He has worked as a REALTOR® since 2010 and leads The Mayer-Harman Team. He served as President of the Brampton Real Estate Board and spent four years as a Provincial Director of the Ontario Real Estate Association — experience in governance, budgets, public policy and advocacy that he believes would let him contribute thoughtfully from his first day on Mono Council.

In 2009, Brad completed his mortgage agent education at Seneca Polytechnic and earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University. His career has centred on helping families navigate some of the largest financial and personal decisions of their lives — work that has taught him the importance of listening carefully, communicating honestly, negotiating effectively and protecting the interests of those who place their trust in him.

As a board president and provincial director, Brad worked with elected officials, industry leaders, community representatives and stakeholders with many different perspectives. He learned how to ask difficult questions, study complex issues, build consensus and advocate for practical solutions.

That work ethic took root early. At 12 years old, Brad began working at Blue Heaven Farm. As a teenager he spent a summer planting trees in Northern Ontario — an experience that strengthened his work ethic and gave him a lasting appreciation for our natural environment. Those early lessons continue to shape how he approaches his family, his business and his involvement in the community today.

Community Service

Brad helps with the Purple Hill Park community rink and volunteers with the Optimist Club, and regularly supports local charitable and community events, including youth sports, the Orangeville Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity.

For Brad, community involvement is not something that begins during an election. It is part of how he has always chosen to live.

Why I’m Running

Brad first ran for Mono Council in 2022 and came within just 71 votes of being elected. Rather than discouraging him, that experience strengthened his commitment to serving the community. He continued listening, learning, volunteering and staying involved in the issues affecting Mono residents.

Brad will not promise that every decision will be easy or that everyone will always agree. He will promise to listen carefully, study the facts, explain his decisions openly and always put Mono’s long-term interests first.
